Hi, my name's Kahurangi - Kahu is fine too. I am 7lbs 6oz and 49cm long. I like sucking my hands and my favourite things are mum's boobs and bath time. Mum and dad will be putting more photos and stories up, so you can come back and visit me anytime you want. Thanks to everyone who's given me cool clothes and stuff - I was a bit worried I'd be wearing dad's stinky old polypro.

phew - that was tough! not quite what mum & dad had planned. mum went into labour around breakfast on
august 24. i was 9 days overdue by then, so they were pretty stoked. dad rushed around trying to clear his
work load. mum cruised...walked to the supermarket, around miyazu gardens, made pikelets with claudia. things stepped up a notch around 3pm, again around 5pm, then by 7pm it was all on. grandma jennie arrived to help. mum having quite a tough time by this stage, but things looking good for a fast homebirth.
7:30pm - wendy (mum's midwife) arrived and could hear that my heartbeat was really slow during contractions, thought there might be a problem with my cord (good call wendy!), and said we had to go to hospital to monitor me better. transfer was all a blur for mum.
8pm - arrived at the hospital, obstetrician saw mum and said they needed to whip me out cos something was wrong with my cord.
8:53pm - i was pulled into the world from mum's tummy, with my cord wrapped tight around my neck - that was close!
